MS Business is an 11-month general business degree designed for individuals with a non-business bachelor`s degree. May`s MS Business program teaches what is widely considered “core business knowledge” (accounting, finance, information systems, management, marketing, and supply chain management) without requiring a student to change course and pursue a career that deviates from their undergraduate field of study. Business schools in France – such as HEC Paris and ESSEC Business School – offer Grande Ecole programmes where you complete the core MiM programme in your first year and specialise in a specific area, earn a specialised master`s degree and gain work experience through a second-year internship. Please note that the MM program is designed for non-commercial majors who graduate this year or completed their undergraduate studies less than two years ago. Students with a business degree (e.g., BBA, MBA, Business, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Management or awarded by a business or business school) and/or more than two years of postdoctoral work experience are not eligible for the MM program. If you are unsure, please send rossmm@umich.edu an email before submitting your application. Katz Master of Science graduates are hired by top companies, embark on successful careers in technical business fields, and start their own business. To apply for a Master`s degree in Management, you must have obtained a first university degree. This is usually a bachelor`s degree, but degree programs can also be accepted. You should also check whether the school requires applicants to have studied a particular subject at the bachelor`s level, such as a bachelor`s degree in economics. The good news for those who have studied something else is that most MIM programs are open to applicants from all academic backgrounds, but make sure you meet the requirements of your chosen business school. The development of these and related skills is the fundamental goal of business education, which should perhaps be referred to by the more precise and less lucrative moniker of “management training.” In fact, business education is too important to be limited to the commercial majors.
Although master`s degrees in management are generalist degrees, it is possible to delve deeper into specific areas through elective courses. Popular topics include machine learning, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and corporate social responsibility. You may even have the option to combine your MiM with a specialized master`s degree. Note that official test results are only valid for a limited period of time. For example, the TOEFL expires after two years. So make sure that your results are still valid, that the test you took is recognized by the schools you are applying to, and that your results meet certain requirements. Marco Trada, a graduate of EDHEC Business School`s double MiM, says his working year has greatly benefited his future prospects as a consultant. “You can apply the skills you learned during your master`s degree and understand if the industry you want to get involved in is right for your career,” he says. You can focus your studies on a specific area of management and earn a certificate in the process. There are 11 specific options and 1 overview option: Limited flexibility?
