Legal Contract for Car Restoration

By November 5, 2022No Comments

Invoices contain an item commonly referred to as “store supplies” that contains items such as rags, tape, paper, etc. that are not listed above. These elements cannot be quantified, but are clearly linked to the cost of restoration. This cost is 1% of the labor cost of the current bill, with a minimum fee of $5.00. Due to the magnitude of the restoration process, it is not possible to make an accurate estimate of the total cost of the entire restoration project. We are happy to provide a rough figure on the cost of the project, but this number will likely vary once work begins. Customer must acknowledge that it waives the right to a written estimate under Washington State law (see RCW46). In order to provide our customers with guidance on the automotive restoration process, the following guidelines have been developed to minimize ambiguity during restoration: One of the biggest mistakes made by many in the restoration process is that no written agreement has been signed by both parties (the car owner and the garage) to carry out a car/truck restoration project. This early mistake can cause the process to become a very miserable project. Many owners hand over the car and thousands of dollars as bail to restoration shops without having a trace of the business they intend to do. For unsuspecting people, this causes a lot of grief, especially when it comes to less serious restoration workshops. 1.) Due to the global nature of the restoration process, estimates or “offers” of the total cost of a restoration project cannot be made at any time.

It is very important that this is understood and accepted. If you want us to bring what we think with you, we will be happy to do so, but in no way will this number affect the total price of your restoration. The store is not tied to such “balancing” costs, as the variables may not be apparent until restoration work begins. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. 13.) You hereby authorize the Store to use photos of the restoration performed on the vehicle as well as your name, city, state and country in its catalogs, website and other promotional materials. C.) The store agrees not to store the vehicle outside after the restoration work has begun In the event that you initiate a temporary “interruption” of the work, a storage fee of $50.00 per day will be charged until a new draw is received with a minimum fee of one (1) month. Storage fees may also apply seven (7) days after notification of completion of the restoration project. 10.) The owner of the vehicle assures the workshop that the vehicle is managed on behalf of the owner of the vehicle as the rightful owner of the vehicle.

You are responsible for any improvements to the Vehicle, even if you have not assured us that you clearly own the Vehicle. The store may require the vehicle owner to provide proof of ownership at any time. 1.) Due to the global nature of the restoration process, estimates or “offers” of the total cost of a restoration project cannot be made at any time. It is very important that this is understood and accepted. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. We want to stick to a schedule and save space. If for any reason the work is stopped due to unpaid invoices, delays by external suppliers, anticipation of customer instructions, or breach of contract, the standard storage fee of $25 per day will be charged to the customer.
